Schedules | Schedule

W1500_2Schedule definition is the central building stone, determining the efficiency and logic structure of the program.  The schedule is a generic template for all the components that will be linked to this schedule.  A schedule will typically be for an airframe, engine, propeller or any other major component type that users would like to monitor.

To add schedule items right click on the tree view and select the "Insert Item" option.  A practical guide line is to keep the schedule in the same sequence as the maintenance manual.  Try to keep headings in line with the chapters etc.  This will simplify all aspects of the program and reporting.

W1500_1Item types

A is made up from various headings and each heading has a number of items that requires maintenance scheduling.  These maintenance items can be one of the following types:

  • Months - Items due after a specific calendar month period.
  • Hours - Items due after a specific number of hours in operation
  • Cycles - Items due after a specific number of cycles
  • Landings - Items due after a specific number of landings
  • Single - Items due once.

Once an item has been added, select the item type and the applicable period.  Complete the other information for future reference.  This additional information includes the default part number that will be used for the selected item, the AMO advice to repair description which will appear on the status report.  Other items that can be defined is the action required as well as the importance of the task.  This can be toggled by selecting the "Normal" button to toggle between the various options.

Schedule item notes

noteiconThe note icon allows editing of more detailed instructions related to the task.  Select this icon to add instructions related to the schedule item.  There is a report option to print these notes with the status report.  This can then act as a handy checklist for instructions related to the item.

Changing the sequence

Schedule items can be dragged on the tree view to change the sequence and position.  It is possible to move individual items or by dragging heading, all child items will be moved with the heading.  Changes in the schedule sequence are not automatically saved. Once items were moved to the required sequence, select the "save Order" button to save the new sequence.

Linking Schedule items

Some items require more than one criteria that can result in the specific item being due.  The link facility allows the user to link a "Month" period item as a child item to a parent item of the type "Hour", "Cycle" or "Landings".  The install date as defined in the "Month" item will be transferred to the parent item during update calculations as both these linked items will always have the same date.  Linked child items can not be dragged to another position in the schedule and must be moved by moving the parent item.

To link two items, they must be defined in the schedule, ensure that the two items follow each other sequentially.  The "Month" item must be the child or second item and the parent item must be of the type "Hour", "Cycle" or "Landings".  Select the second item and right click with the mouse.  Select the menu option: Link items.  On a successful link, the child item will be shown on the schedule as linked to the parent item.
