The WinStatus program is based on a system of linking. This simply means that once a customer has been created, this entry may be linked to an aircraft registration. To this registration various 'components' that make up the aircraft are added or linked. The concept is that 'components' are major units of the aircraft such as: Airframe (by serial number), engines (by serial number) and apu's (by serial number). Any unit requiring its own maintenance schedule or traceability can have its own schedule. In most cases this will be taken care of by using 'airframes', 'engines' and 'apu' as main units. As components and customers change they may be re-linked as necessary. The links associated with a component may be viewed from the 'File - Links' selection of the main task bar.

Search Window

All windows under the 'File' selections are entered via a 'Search Window'. To search for an entry begin typing in the 'Search Customer / Aircraft/ Component/ Schedule' field. The closest match will appear below. Press the 'Open' icon. To search and select from existing entries, tick the 'Show Close Match' box and the 10 entries either side of the typed data will be displayed in the main box. Simply highlight one and press the 'Open' icon.

Customer

From the 'Customer' window (W1000), new customers may be added if the program is NOT linked to AMO32. Press the blue page in the 'Button Bar' to add a new entry. Enter the customer data, ie name, address, phone numbers etc. Aircraft linked to a customer are also shown. Aircraft/Owners may be linked and re linked from this window.

Aircraft

Add or edit new aircraft from the 'Aircraft' window. Press the blue page to add a new registration.  From the 'Aircraft Model' drop down box , choose the aircraft type. The program comes loaded with a large selection of aircraft types and these can be added to from the 'Maintenance' - 'Aircraft Make' selection on the main task bar.  Most aircraft types can be accommodated by using a single schedule and adding all requirements and then selecting 'Not Applicable' to those items not required.  See flyer 'Building Schedules'. Aircraft/Owners may be linked and re linked from this window by using the 'Customer' drop down box. If a component has been entered it may be linked by pressing the 'Component' icon. Should a component already be linked to an aircraft, a warning will be given prior to re-linking. No other checks are made. Care should therefore be taken when re -selecting links.

As an added feature to the program a system of usage fields is incorporated in the 'Aircraft' window . These fields have headings which are user definable in the 'Maintenance - Parameters' selection of the main task bar. Enter the updated hours, cycles and date and press the blue arrow. This will add a line to the utilization box. Enter data in the various fields. These will then be collated and reported on in a report from the 'Report' selection in the main task bar. Headings may typically include such items as ; Landings, Fuel, Oil, Tires, and Maintenance costs or any user definable parameters. Press the 'Calculator' icon to calculate average monthly utilization. To delete a utilization line, highlight it and press the 'Rubbish Bin' icon.

To update all linked component times to the aircraft time press the 'Update' icon.

To go directly to the component status window press the 'Edit Component' icon

Component

The concept used in the program is that 'components' are major units of the aircraft such as: Airframe (by serial number), engines (by serial number) and apu's (by serial number). Any unit requiring its own maintenance schedule or traceability can have its own schedule. In most cases this will be taken care of by using 'airframes', 'engines' and 'apu' as main units.

Use the 'Component' selection from 'File' on the main task bar. Add a new component serial number by pressing the blue page on the button bar and entering the number. The component may be linked to both an aircraft and schedule from this window by using the drop down box's 'AC Registration' and 'Schedule'.  Add the component hours and cycles as currently fitted. These need not be the same as the aircraft hours and cycles. Should these times be different from the aircraft time (ie: a new or lower time engine fitted to the aircraft), subtract the current component time from the aircraft time (hours and cycles) and enter these numbers in the 'Airframe at component zero' fields. (Ie: engine time 500 hours, aircraft time 2500. Aircraft minus engine equals 2000) The aircraft was 2000 hours when the engine was zero. This will then be calculated when aircraft hours are added and the true component time shown. Lastly click the position of the component (for multi engine aircraft). A useful feature of the program is that if a component is removed from an aircraft it can still be kept on the program but marked as not 'Active' by un clicking the 'Active' box. This makes sure that no time is added to the component while it is removed.

Schedule

Enter a new schedule name from the 'Schedule' selection under 'File' on the main task bar. Add a new schedule name by pressing the blue page on the button bar and entering the name. The name needs to be entered prior to creating the schedule data.
