Avdex have added an upgrade to the Compliance window.

To aid the capture of Tasks on the schedules, Avdex have added a tree view of the entire schedule for the component selected.  Users may paste the Task name (or partial name) or ShareID in the new search field. When found, the icon to the left of the relevant chapter will change to that of a closed book.  Click on the icon and the tree will expand, showing any or all tasks fitting the search.

Click on any task shown and the correct ShareID will be entered into the ‘ShareID’ field, ready for maintenance capture.  Select the chain link icon to see previous compliance or select the ’i’  icon to see the task detail.  This will assist users in selecting the correct task as well as selecting tasks to be made not applicable.

AVDEX visit to Windhoek

An AVDEX team spent the week in Windhoek, conducting refresher training for AMS and AMP clients in the capital of Namibia.  Highly successful training sessions were conducted and clients brought up to speed with the latest versions of the AVDEX software as well as a preview of the upcoming AMS v3, which is in development.


AVDEX is providing the maintenance tracking for the Westair Wings fleet and will add the newest acquisitions, three Beech 350’s which are about to enter service with the operator, to the AMP tracking system.  Two are currently being repainted and upholstered prior to being placed in service, while the third will arrive shortly after maintenance in Germany.  The task now is to capture all the current maintenance records to enable Westair Wings to accurately track future maintenance.  Westair Wings also use the AVDEX AMS software to manage the in-house AMO.


Desert Air, a successful Namibian tourist charter operator has now completed the transition to full digital workshop management and maintenance tracking with AVDEX software.


Aviation Centre have come up to speed with AMS and AVDEX is assisting in fully implementing  AMS  in the general aviation division of the AMO.


Westair Maintenance continues with its ten year association with AVDEX, using our AMS and AMP software to manage this growing aviation enterprise.

AVDEX Release AMS Upgrade v2.302.115

The latest AMS program upgrade v2.302.115 is available from Avdex.
This upgrade includes improvement to the selection of aircraft to be imported from AMP for clients.
Go to ‘Housekeeping -Config Options – Company’ and press ‘Download Update’ and ‘Download Reports’
Exit the program.
Make a Backup!
How to upgrade.
Upgrade the report templates, manually run *:\Data\Setams\SetupReports.exe (where ‘*’ is the data drive)(only needs to be run once).
Ask all users to exit AMS.  Make a backup.  Upgrade the program manually run *:\Data\Setams\Setup.exe (where ‘*’ is the data drive).
When complete, relaunch AMS. If the file structures need updating, the program will display a warning.  Make a backup from the backup button.  Select ‘File Structure’ and select each file that is not OK and press ‘Update’.  When complete, Exit re launch AMS and select ‘Housekeeping – System – Data Files – Build Index’.  Untick the box ‘Use IDK Reference’ and ‘Pack Files’ and press ‘Start Indexing’.  Apparent data loss may appear if a re index is not done.

AMP Down Time

All AVDEX AMP Clients

The Avdex Website (AMP) will be down this upcoming Saturday, 14 January 2017 between 00h00 and 16h00.

We have received a notification from Afrihost stating that Afrihost will be doing maintenance on the server’s area and needs to power down.
In an effort to improve Afrihost’s hosting infrastructure, Internet Solutions (IS) will be conducting maintenance in the Data centre that hosts our server on the 14th of January 2017.
The maintenance is scheduled to start at 00h01 on Saturday the 14th of January 2017 and is expected to be completed at 16h00 on Saturday the 14th January 2017.

What does this mean for you?
During the maintenance period, the Data centre power feeds will be upgraded.
During the maintenance, power to our server will be interrupted.
AMP will NOT be accessible; hence no report printing or capturing will be possible.
Please insure that your Reports and Task Cards required for Saturday are printed and saved to your computer.

CAA have advised that legislation changes will come into effect on November 28th, 2016, whereby invoices for Currency fees will no longer be issued in advance of the due date.  Payment of the annual currency fee will be on application for the CofA renewal and it will be the Owners responsibility to ensure that the fee is paid in time.

AMO’s making payment on behalf of their clients should make sure that the CofA is renewed in time as no advise will be sent to Owners.
